The BMW Frankfurt Marathon is celebrating its 30th edition on the 27th October this year with well known international athletes taking part from across the globe. Running club La Bolsa del Corredor from Spain will be at the marathon with two lucky competition winners who will be fully prepared for their first marathon.
In May La Bolsa del Corredor, a blog which is run by Diario SPORT, ran a competition where two lucky winners (1 male and 1 female) could join the BC Team training group Reto Frankfurt in preparation for the Frankfurt Marathon 2013 along with free race entry, a personal trainer for four months, one weeks training at Sands Beach Resort, and race gear among many other treats. However the winners, announced as Irina Mas and Francis Campos, were not to have run a marathon before.
Earlier this month the training group Reto Frankfurt including Irina Mas and Francis Campos visited Sands Beach Resort for an intensive training stage. Their coach José Antonio Castillo took the team through their paces as they run through the Lanzarote landscape and enjoyed the 25 metre pool at Sands Beach. On day four of training, Sands Active coach Alberto Lorrio took the team into the gym where he stressed the importance of core exercises. On their final day, the team was back in the gym with Lanzarote’s Olympic runner José Carlos Hernández who was happy to answer their questions about running a successful marathon. Of course it wasn’t all training and the team enjoyed their time relaxing at Sands Beach as well as on the local beaches.
Sands Beach Active would like to wish the BC Team Reto Frankfurt good luck at the BMW Frankfurt Marathon on the 27th October 2013 and hope to see you at the Lanzarote International Marathon later this year.
